Does the Faculty Lounge Rule?

The incomparable Victor Davis Hanson thinks so, evincing evidence that ethnic centers have the run of our institutions, and economics and political science departments determine policy.

And so goes the nation, resembling for all the world “a faculty bull session over coffee.”

I read Victor Hanson’s post. He certainly has contempt for people in academics. Wasn’t he a professor himself before he took early retirement? If this is the attitude of conservatives toward the academy, it’s no wonder they are virtually absent from the faculty ranks. Why would any college or university want to hire them? Come to think of it, why is NAS running this stuff? You must want to completely alienate those in academia who might be sympathetic. What do you hope to gain by that?
