The white ally is tantamount to the &quot;good&quot; Samaritan in certain respects. It suggests that whites in general aren&#039;t allies, as &quot;good&quot; in the &quot;good Samaritan&quot; suggests that Samaritan&#039;s in general aren&#039;t good. The discourse seems to do a good job at ignoring the objectification involved in thinking of white people as tools toward another&#039;s end. The more white people who can be &quot;duped&quot; into thinking along the discursive lines of diversity, the better chance the movement has at succeeding. The first step, however, is to get whites to accept their subservient role as an object for another&#039;s prosperity. Hmm...what does this sound like?]]></description>
