At NC State, we put the iPad in the hands of five student bloggers to see what they really think. The results were surprising... it seems universally loathed as a educational resource so far.

You are right! It's like mouse as a pointing device. It was a new thing 30 years ago Coming from PARC of Xerox and popularized by Apple with its first Macintosh.. 30 years after that the mice are always here. Even if the new iPad ask now only some fingers to manipulate. But I don't think that iPad will oudate the mouse as a pointing device any time soon.

And the iPad itself as a concept is a very old idea. Imagine having - with ergonomically reading quality (very very important...) - all your law or medical libraries in a one pound tablet!

Personaly I prefer read fiction on paper books. But for reading technical or nomenclature information I accept to use an electronic tablet.

The iPad itself will surely be replaced by a new model from Apple or from the competition, but I don't think that the concept of electronic pad or slate will be oudated for a long time. Too much potential and usefullness
